Fully Funded Agricultural Scholarships in SE Asia: DAAD SEARCA 2026 Program

The DAAD SEARCA Scholarship is a fully funded program for Master’s studies in Southeast Asia, focusing on food science and sustainable development. It supports graduates from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, East Timor, Thailand, or Vietnam to pursue degrees at partner institutions like UPLB, UPM, or UGM.

The scholarship is offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in cooperation with SEARCA, the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture. It aims to strengthen higher education systems in the region and promote development-oriented research and teaching.

DAAD SEARCA Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
  • Graduates from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, East Timor, Thailand or Vietnam
  • First academic degree (e.g. Bachelor)
  • Plan to pursue a career in teaching and/or research at a higher education institution in Southeast Asia
  • Apply for Master’s courses at one of the partner institutions of SEARCA (UPLB, UPM or UGM)
  • Female applicants and candidates from less privileged regions or groups are especially encouraged
How to Apply for DAAD SEARCA Scholarship
  • Submit a complete application for the programme via the DAAD Portal
  • At the same time, apply for admission at SEARCA using the contact details and procedure prescribed by the institution
  • Inform yourself in plenty of time about the application process at the host institution
