The TAGDev 2.0 Scholarship 2026 in Rwanda is a fully funded opportunity for the 2026/2027 academic year, implemented by RUFORUM in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. It supports economically disadvantaged but academically competent young African students, with strong encouragement for females, refugees, and persons with disabilities, to pursue studies in agriculture and related fields.
The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) is a network of universities collaborating to strengthen agricultural higher education in Africa. In partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, the TAGDev 2.0 program aims to transform African agricultural universities to contribute meaningfully to the continent’s growth and development.

- Be a national of Kenya and Uganda to benefit from the national respective scholarship quota
- Be a refugee residing in Uganda and Kenya to benefit from a regional quota
- Be from economically disadvantaged, marginalized communities, coming from conflict and post-conflict areas.
- Be less than 25 years for undergraduate and less than 30 years for master studies at the time of application.
- Be 29 years and below for a refugee and persons with disability for undergraduate studies and 34 years and below for refugees and persons with disability for master studies at the time of application.
- Should have completed secondary school and/or a diploma for a bachelor’s degree application not more than two years from the time of this call.
- The applicant should meet admission criteria to eligible programs in the university of choice (Egerton University or Gulu University).
- For admission into Gulu University for an undergraduate degree program one must have attained a High School Certificate (HSC) also known as Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent.
- For admission into Egerton University, one must have completed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent.
- Demonstrate interest in agriculture, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and commitment to service of humanity
- Access the RIMS Web Portal through; https://rims2.ruforum.org/
- Create your account by clicking on Register
- An email will be sent to your valid email address to activate your account. Please check in the Spam or Junk for messages in case activation mail is not reflected in your inbox.
- Login using your email and password you used for creating.
- After successful login, the Applicant Dashboard will appear with different options.
- Go to Calls – > Scholarship Calls
- Select the Call ID: RU/2024/TAGDev-2.0/001
- Click Apply to start filling out the Application Form.
- Remember to save while filling out the form by “Clicking Save Draft”
- Download, print, and submit it with your application form for admission to the University of your choice.
- Depending on the University you are applying to, you may either submit the document in hard copy or simply attach it to the university’s online portal.
