McKinsey & Company is inviting applications for its Young Leaders Programme in Lagos, Nigeria.
The Young Leaders Programme is a 1-year full-time consulting programme designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals from different academic backgrounds who are interested in building a career in management consulting and working on impactful projects across Africa.
Successful candidates will work in McKinsey’s Lagos office as part of client engagement teams, usually in groups of 3–5 consultants.
They will help gather and analyze information, test ideas, develop recommendations, present results to clients, and support implementation alongside client teams.

About the Programme
The Young Leaders Programme gives participants the opportunity to learn how consulting works in a real client-facing environment.
Participants will work directly with clients, contribute to problem-solving, and gain exposure to industries such as financial services, public sector, healthcare, energy, infrastructure, agriculture, consumer goods, telecommunications, oil and gas, transport, technology, and more.
The programme is designed to develop exceptional young African talent into strong professionals and future leaders.
What You Will Do
Selected candidates will:
- Work with consulting teams on client projects.
- Gather and analyze business information.
- Formulate and test hypotheses.
- Develop practical recommendations.
- Present findings and solutions to clients.
- Support implementation of recommendations.
- Work directly with client team members.
- Build problem-solving, communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

Who Can Apply?
Applicants should have:
- An undergraduate or master’s degree.
- Less than 3 years of work experience.
- Completed or about to begin national youth service.
- Strong academic record.
- Proven leadership experience through extracurricular activities or work experience.
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
