The First Bank Retail Banking Recruitment Bootcamp is a specialized recruitment initiative designed to identify and attract high-performing professionals for relationship management and retail banking roles across the bank’s nationwide network.
The programme provides experienced professionals with an opportunity to demonstrate their expertise in customer acquisition, relationship management, deposit mobilization, credit marketing, and sales within a highly competitive and performance-driven banking environment.

Job Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Mobilize deposits and grow liabilities through the bank’s various products and services.
- Source and onboard new customers while maintaining existing relationships.
- Manage and deepen relationships with prospective and existing customers.
- Market and cross-sell banking products to meet customer needs.
- Book quality risk assets and monitor portfolios for early detection of defaults.
- Revive dormant customer relationships and inactive accounts.
- Deliver excellent customer service and account maintenance support.
- Support business growth, profitability, and market expansion objectives.
- Ensure achievement of monthly and annual sales targets.
- Contribute to product development initiatives based on customer needs.
- Prepare periodic business and performance reports.
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
Senior Relationship Managers and team leads may also be responsible for:
- Supervising retail marketing teams.
- Coaching and motivating staff members.
- Managing budgets and operating costs.
- Approving marketing expenditures within assigned limits.
- Driving value creation and profitability across business units.
Requirements
For Relationship Manager roles, applicants should possess:
- A First Degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline, preferably business-related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant banking experience in marketing, credit, relationship management, or retail banking.
- Strong knowledge of banking operations, products, and services.
- Experience in customer acquisition and deposit mobilization.
- Good understanding of credit and risk management principles.
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Excellent sales, business development, and negotiation skills.
Additional advantages include:
- MBA or relevant professional certifications.
- Experience in product management or business strategy.
- Previous leadership or management experience.
For more senior management positions under the bootcamp:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
- At least 2 years in a management or supervisory role within retail banking, sales, or relationship management.
