About the Role

Redex Food Pack is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized Junior Accountant to support the Finance & Accounts function. The successful candidate will assist with daily accounting operations, financial record-keeping, reconciliations, inventory and cost tracking, reporting, and statutory compliance.

The role is suited to an accountant who is eager to develop strong practical accounting experience within a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment.


Key Responsibilities

- Record and maintain accurate daily financial transactions and accounting records.

- Assist with maintaining the general ledger and supporting schedules.

- Prepare and perform regular bank and account reconciliations.

- Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and customer reconciliations.

- Track daily cash transactions and assist with cash flow monitoring.

- Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.

- Support inventory accounting by monitoring stock movements and reconciling physical stock with accounting records.

- Assist with monitoring raw material usage, production costs, wastage, and cost variances.

- Support product costing and cost-per-unit calculations.

- Assist with the preparation of monthly Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, and management reports.

- Review invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other financial documents for accuracy and completeness.

- Assist with payroll preparation by verifying attendance records, deductions, and staff-related costs.

- Support the preparation and documentation required for VAT, PAYE, and other statutory obligations.

- Maintain proper filing and confidentiality of financial documents and records.

- Work with Production, Procurement, Operations, Store, and HR departments to obtain and verify financial information.

- Identify and report accounting discrepancies, unusual transactions, and potential financial risks.

- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by management.


Requirements

- HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

- Preferably 2 years of relevant accounting experience; internship or NYSC accounting experience is an added advantage.

- Part-qualified ICAN, ACCA, or other professional accounting certification is an advantage.

- Basic understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and reconciliations.

- Basic knowledge of inventory and cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.

- Basic understanding of Nigerian tax and statutory compliance requirements.

- Strong numerical and analytical skills.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.

- Good communication and organizational skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

- Willingness to learn and take responsibility.
