About the Startup Abuja Scholarship Program
The Startup Abuja Scholarship Program is designed to provide students with more than conventional tuition assistance.
The initiative combines financial support with practical work experience, entrepreneurship education, financial literacy and career development.
According to the programme, up to ₦50 million has been allocated to the funding pool, with up to 12 students expected to emerge as beneficiaries.
Each selected beneficiary receives the programme’s full student empowerment package rather than being selected for only one component.

- Be committed to their education and personal development
- Be willing to participate in programme activities if selected
There is no minimum CGPA requirement.
According to the organisers, the programme places emphasis on qualities such as commitment, consistency, financial discipline and active participation rather than using CGPA as the sole basis for selection.

For final-year students whose school fees are no longer applicable, the organisers state that information about the equivalent value will be communicated as part of the award package.

The stipend is intended to provide additional financial support for beneficiaries during the programme.
The exact monthly amount is not stated in the information provided.

The organisers specifically describe this as a paid internship rather than an unpaid attachment or volunteer position.

How the Selection Process Works
The programme follows a multi-stage process.
1. Submit an Application
Eligible students complete the online application with accurate personal and educational information.
2. Shortlisting and Onboarding
After applications close, submissions will be reviewed.
Shortlisted applicants will receive an official onboarding email from Startup Abuja containing instructions, timelines and details of the next stages.
3. Complete Programme Activities
Shortlisted participants will be expected to follow their onboarding instructions and participate consistently in the required activities.
Performance and engagement during this process will contribute to determining the final beneficiaries.
Up to 12 students will ultimately receive the scholarship package.
Is There a CGPA Requirement?
No minimum CGPA is required.
This makes the programme accessible to students who may not qualify for scholarships that rely primarily on academic grades.
Applicants will, however, still need to demonstrate commitment and participate in the programme’s selection activities.
Can Final-Year Students Apply?
Yes.
The programme states that where school fees no longer apply to a final-year beneficiary, information concerning the equivalent value will be communicated as part of the award package.
Application Fee
Application is completely free.
Applicants should not pay anyone to submit an application or guarantee selection.
Number of Beneficiaries
Up to 12 students will be selected.
Funding Pool
Up to ₦50 million.
Applicants should note that this represents the programme’s overall stated funding pool and should not be interpreted as ₦50 million being awarded individually to each beneficiary.
