Eligibility Criteria for the Garden Scholarship 2026 
  • Accepted for admission to the Surgical Writing and Evidence Based Practice (online learning) programme in the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.
  • Preference will be given to those who have an unconditional offer at time of the scholarship application deadline.
  • Currently enrolled on the PgProfDev Surgical Writing and Evidence Based Practice (online learning) programme and wish to complete the PG Certificate.
  • The Garden Scholarship would particularly welcome applications from students from sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Applicants must be currently domiciled in one of the eligible countries listed.
