The successful candidate will support the company’s financial management and day-to-day accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening financial controls, preparing timely reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable financial and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

The Accounts Associate will support the company’s accounting and financial operations, including:
  • Maintaining accurate financial and accounting records.
  • Managing financial transactions and supporting daily bookkeeping activities.
  • Supporting payroll and inventory accounting.
  • Monitoring accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Preparing timely financial reports for management.
  • Conducting bank and other account reconciliations.
  • Supporting cash management and financial control processes.
  • Maintaining proper documentation of financial transactions.
  • Supporting budgeting, financial planning, and decision-making.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable financial and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting financial activities related to seed production, input sales, commodity trading, inventory management, and farmer-financing programmes
Requirements

Candidates should possess:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll, budgeting, taxation, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or inventory-management software.
  • Experience managing accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, cash management, and financial records.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
  • High integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills, including the ability to present financial information clearly to management.
Experience in inventory accounting, production costing, or stock reconciliation will be an added advantage.

Knowledge or experience in agriculture, seed production, agricultural input sales, or commodity trading will also be an advantage.

A relevant professional accounting qualification or ongoing professional certification will be an added advantage.
